Kerman

Kerman The most arid part of the world is located in the great desert depression in the central part of Iran Plateau. It is located exactly in where two inner mountain chains are crossed, clearly it is divided to two parts. These two parts are Dashte-Kavir and Dashte-Lut, the first one to the north and second one to the south. Kerman, which is the second largest province of Iran after Sistine-Baluchistan province, is located in the second one, means to the south. The provincial capital is Kerman city which is located almost 1800 meters above sea level in high margin of the dessert. Kerman is also the third provincial capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran in elevation. Kerman is called Iran fossil paradise due to Iranian paleontologists’ views. This city that first used to be a satrap was built by Ardeshir I, who used to be a Magi and founder of the Sassanid Empire, in the 3rd century AD. Kerman, which from an oasis transformed to a defensive outpost, now includes eleven percent of The Islamic Republic of Iran.
