Isfahan Friday or Jame mosque

Isfahan Friday or Jame mosque is located in the Jewish neighborhood of the city. This mosque, which used to be a Zoroastrian fire temple, has experienced different architectural styles during at least one millennium. Due to this is called the encyclopedia of Islamic architecture. The construction process begun since 9th century, it means almost two centuries after the Islam entrance to Persia. The process lasted for approximately one thousand years and in 19th century when the Qajar used to reign on Iran it was stopped; it does not mean that the Qajar kings did not add design, decorative and architectural elements to the mosque. The true word in this field is that the repetitive changes in the mosque styles were not continued after that dynasty. This mosque which is a UNESCO world heritage site has the Persian plan, there are four Ivans in this mosque. Contrary to typical styles, the Ivans are not symmetrical but they two by two are connected together. The cortile of the mosque was added during the Qajarid period. There are two rotundas in each side of the court, and they are really famous among the other domes…..
